Unboxing About Vintage 1970 GMT Kristian Haagen Bundle Edition
No wrist shot?
The Leisure Series watch you're using can be bought everyday for 12 to 25$, so I doubt seriously that it is PVD coated, more like black paint! I have a Seiko diver's black PVD about15 years old, the saphire is scratched but not a scratch on the black, that is PVD. Another test using different hardness testing tools on RUclips by an English gentlemen, shows that the PVD coating is much harder to scratch than regular Stainless Steel.
Great to hear about your Seiko.
THANK YOU
I bought a watch which says Marconi Special Can I consider it a Rolex even though it doesn't have that word on the watch
I am a lot older than you, 60! I remember the original of this, in fact my mother bought it for me as a birthday present. The watch was actually a Childs watch back then and was designed to teach children how to tell and read the time in both 12/24 hour formats. I loved mine, swam with it, rode my bike and all the rough and tumble stuff kids used to do back then! It was pretty much indestructible. After many years of use and especially swimming in the English Channel it finally succumbed to all those years of abuse by the plating wearing off and the brass getting rough and giving me rashes on my wrist so was retired for another Timex, this time a futuristic digital watch ! The old Timex still continued to work perfectly even after years of abuse, no servicing and literally spending every day in the summer holidays swimming and diving in the sea, just the case wearing out!
Very nice story and Timex experience. I like it.
This gorgeous watch is being sold at Costco in Korea at a price of $750 in 2024, which is half of the original launch price . It's the cheapest price in the world, though.
It’s been serving me well. At that price grab it.
I was thinking about buying one of these watches..This video might have changed my mind.
They are much improved. I did a follow up video.
1. You get what you pay for. 2. If something is too good to true it usually isn’t
Royal Smith with the beads of rice bracelet just works. This is like getting a new vintage watch.
Great point. It’s been serving me nicely.
What is (as I hear it) "gealashe"?
The detailed pattern on the dial.
The real one from Sea Gull website is priced $3600 plus!🎉🎉
There are so many fakes and copycats of Sea Gull in china, especially Airforce 1963.
Baseless conspiracy theory: Buzz kept the watch because he wanted to keep it as a family heirloom and pass it to his descendants.
Verry nice Watch.
Yes the watch is serving me well. The name though.
Some others does use the diving bezel to adjust a second zone time.very useful & practical.
Yep agreed.
I bought one watch on ebay. The watch was fake..very ugly. I complained to ebay. Ebay is shit and crap too. They dont really care...and make it hard to complaint.
Sorry to hear that man.
I am buying. Please. Guide. Me
Invicta dose make smaller conservative styles. It is part of their slim line and classic line. They have something for everyone. I own one, and i like it. It looks like the bolava, breitling surfboard. For the most part, im a seiko fan boy.
That’s good to hear. Continue and enjoy yours, Brian. And go Seiko.
I have the exact same watch and I absolutely love it beautiful watch.
Hi, Paul. Very nice. Congrats and continue to enjoy it. It’s been great to me. I really like it as well as it’s just beautifully made.
between 36 - 44mm is a big range :)
Agreed because watches can wear differently even with the same dimensions depending on the brand.
@whatsonthewrist agreed, I'm excited to find thr 42 mm watch that doesn't make me look funny
Yes that pursuit can be both fun and frustrating. Lots of strong options in 42.
Great video. Thank you. Finally I know how it works
That’s nice to hear. 🤙
Beautiful
It’s been doing great.
Your sweet spot is between 36 and 44mm? In other words, all watches. Sweet spot refers to a 1 or 2mm difference.
I don’t agree because the same size watch wears differently with certain brands. I could include 46 or 48mm, but they don’t work for me regardless of the brand or model. 44 is as big as it goes for me. 34 wasn’t a consideration, which is why this was a pleasant surprise.
I’m sorry which one is the fake one? I’m confused
The smaller one.
I just can't get behind Invicta I feel like they are trying way to hard to be different. Instead of being innovative. Big watches appeal to a small market and limits their consumer base.
I get it, but they actually have a giant consumer base.
@@whatsonthewrist it only seems that way because their loyal customer base buy more than one watch on a regular basis, if 10 Seiko buyers buy 10 seikos, and 10 Invicta buyers buy 20 invictas it's going to look like they have more customers. I can understand your point as well.
i just wish it didnt say china made in capitals on the face like they swiss or something
Nothing wrong with being proud. But I understand your perspective.
@@whatsonthewrist it goes from potentially looking more expensive to oh its chinese
@@whatsonthewrist beautiful watch though and I do want one
Spitfire is definitely better choice..congrats
Thanks man.
Spitfire is definitely better choice..congrats
Spitfire is definitely better choice..congrats
Thank you so much. So clear.
Glad the video was helpful.
Chinese watches are just as good as Swiss watches
It depends but agreed.
it is not a fake seagull ... it is either a seagull movement that is made in tianjin (original seagull movement company) or made in one of its accredited watch factories ...
Really nice find Rich. I’ve never really considered a 34 mm case size… I have a fairly small wrist so I may give this one a shot. I tend to like 40 mm as my sweet spot. Keep up the good work. KDP
Hey, good to see you, KDP. Yeah I know what you mean regarding size.
@@whatsonthewrist miss your reviews…taking a break? All the best to you. KDP
@@watcheswork1217Kinda. I have more lined up. Thanks, brother.
does it look more goldish on hand than bronze bcs in the video it looks pretty much like gold
It’s bronze.
Excellent review of a very enticing watch. Very nicely done!
Thank you. It’s been serving me nicely.
I'm a little insulted as I didn't get a note. lol I bought the Navy-Black version and I'm very happy with it. Quality seems good and Fit-Finish is good.
Congrats, I like your edition. Enjoy yours.
Whether or not I'm a fan lf the car that inspired it, I can easily appreciate the design features that relate to this and the era of car design it refers to. I can really get behind the concept and the execution. What lets it down is the size and price. While I appreciate what looks big will differ per person. To me the watch looks huge on you on the picture you showed. Not strange, because it's defintily an oversized watch. That kind of fits with the concept too, but it means I thankfully dont have to pause on the price to see if i'd really want one someday. At this size it's an immediate pass. Perhaps making it a dainty 36 would not suit, nut I'd be curious about pulling off a 40mm. That would also likely appeal to a wider audience in general.
I get it. I wouldn’t mind an option in 41mm.
The diastar is growing on me but which of the two is best for investment
They’re both timeless, but the Diastar is one of the most recognizable models even from across the room. That’s not an answer to your investment question, it’s more of what could be in demand.
You kept referring to "Amazon," but the related substance, used watches, leads me to believe that you meant eBay.
Great video and mazing watch. I have one of the more recent Piccards. Any interest in selling yours? 😁
Thank you and I hope you enjoy yours. 🙌
A timeless piece for daily wear. Wear it with anything from hoodie or suite.
Exactly. 👌
Nice video! I'm impressed with their size and finish, so I'm doing as much research on this brand as I can. Kudos for mentioning selvedge denim!
I think you’ll like it if you’re okay with the size. There’s plenty to like. Sounds like you’re a jeans guy too.
@@whatsonthewrist Like most people, I've worn jeans all my life. It's just now, however, that I'm discovering selvedge denim--and Japanese Americana in particular. It's also telling that I'm considering a second Japanese watch.
Minase is also outstanding albeit on the more expensive side. KUOE represents a strong value. ONI Japanese jeans are pretty awesome and one of my favorite brand/jeans
@@whatsonthewrist I hadn't heard of Minase before, but they're definitely out of my price range. And I'm looking for a traditional dress watch. The Kuoe Royal Smith 90-006 is the one that has caught my attention. I've heard of Oni, but I only have a pair of Unbranded UB201 right now. I'm hunting around for a pair of black, sanforized, non-stretch selvedge. I want a somewhat slim straight cut and something mid-weight. Feel free to let me know if you come across anything that would fit this bill.
Try the Japanese website Denimio.com for jeans.
Glad you are liking it .
Very nice entry level watch
Thanks man.
Thanks for this video!
It’s a lovely watch.
Hi ser please. I wish to no were to make good watch in China. Please advice me.
Now I think I’ve seen them all! The Chinese got to the point where they’re faking their own watches.
Actually, both are real Sea-Gull watches.
Movements are but not the whole watch.
People hate out of jealousy or envy or the need to because it makes them feel good, Invicta is a good brand and I have 200 and I feel good when I look at them. Isn't that what artists want you to feel when you see their work
It’s great that you’re enjoying your collection. Continue to get what you want.
I researched this watch before purchasing it for myself and when it came I loved it. The crown is so unique! But, it was so beautiful I gave it to my wife instead of keeping if for myself. It was too delicate for my wardrobe. Now I appreciate it's beauty on her wrist while at dinner. I think it's a win/win.
What a guy. 👌
